Craig Hill is The News Tribune’s injury-prone Adventure writer. After eight years covering college football and basketball, he started writing about  adventure sports in 2004. On Wednesday, the state announced the dates for the first digs of the upcoming razor clam season. The first dig will start Oct. 16 at two beaches.

Here is the list of tentative dates for the early-season digs. Digging will be allowed if marine toxin tests show the clams are safe to eat.
