Well, you probably already checked out "Hell Yeah," which I posted as Grit City Bootleg No. 17. And now here's another cut that's sure to be on Atomic Outlaws' set list when T-town's hottest band plays KISW-FM's Pain in the Grass concert Saturday at White River Amphitheatre.
I'm actually out of the office this week, but I had to at least post a link about the father of the electric guitar dying. Read Rolling Stone's obit here.
The bad news: I showed up to the New Frontier too late to bootleg Tacoma's Cannon Canyon, my original plan for Thursday night. The good news, though, is that I've got a new band crush. Sugar Sugar Sugar is from my old stomping grounds, Bellingham, and they rocked. Judge for yourself. And check back in a bit. I got some pretty sweet clips of last night's headliner, Lozen, too.
A second stage has been added to Crue Fest, which will drop in on Auburn's White River Amphitheatre on July 27, Motley Crue announced today via the festival site. Rev Theory, Cavo, Shram and 16 Second Stare will play the Monster Energy stage along with a local band chosen in each market.
The good news: Alice in Chains today. The bad: There's no Seattle date. Yet. But you know it's coming. Here's what just arrived in my inbox:

Steve Gaydich over at Rocket Records just called to alert me to a pretty killer bill he's got coming up on July 19. He's got Stone Axe, a new band featuring Mos Generator's Tony Reed, with Zook and the Plastards.
Listen to some cuts from the forthcoming Zook album that I leaked here, and check out Rocket Records' MySpace page here.
Cinematic is the first word that sprang to mind when I first listened to Los Angeles psych-rock band Spindrift’s latest album, “The West.” Cinematic, as the album title suggests, in a way that recalls Ennio Morricone and spaghetti westerns.
Spindrift will headline Bob’s Java Jive tonight. So recently I caught up with band member Henry Evans to chat about his band’s six-shooter psychedelia and “The Legend of God’s Gun,” the indie western that Spindrift actually shot. That's the trailer above. Click here to listen to excerpts from the interview, with snippets from their cuts “Ace Coletrain,” “Isle of Lost Souls” and “The New West” playing in the background.
DRINK! Ten Miles of Bad Road demands this of its growing fan base after every song, earning the outlaw country outfit a reputation as Tacoma’s hardest boozing band. Better be careful, fellas, before you wind up needin' the ol' Schick Shadel.
The country fried rockers posted below come from the band’s March 26 set at the New Frontier Lounge. And when band leader, Rev. Nate, e-mailed me the correct song titles, he also mentioned big outlaw country festival he's planning to replace “the late, great Hotrod-A-Rama” in August at the Swiss Pub. “No hotrods, but there will be plenty of rama,” he writes.
Of course, there's be plenty of places to catch Ten Miles before then. Latest show dates are on the band's MySpace page. Now what are you waitin' for? Listen to the clips. And DRINK! (Um, if you're legal, of course.)
Was thoroughly impressed with Tacoma-Seattle power trio Helms Alee (two-thirds of which is the duo Lozen) at Top of Tacoma last night. They're heavy, sludgy, distorted and kind of prog in a way that'll appeal to fans of the Melvins, Isis and (especially) Jucifer. Bought a copy of "Night Terror," their album from Hydra Head Records and am jamming it into my iPod as we speak.
Speaking of which, new Critic's iPod clips are on the way.
Today, Motley Crue announced that Godsmack, Theory of a Deadman, Drowning Pool And Charm City Devils will provide support for the band's second annual Crue Fest tour. And if you've been reading this blog, you'll know that show is set for a July 27 stop at Auburn's White River Amphitheatre, during which the Crue will perform all of '80s smash album "Dr. Feelgood" in its entirety.
You can find more up to date info on the tour site here.
Reunited jam band champs Phish announced additional summer tour dates today, including a two-night stand at the Gorge Amphitheatre in Grant County on Aug. 7 and 8. Tickets go on sale to the general public on March 27, according to today's announcement. Learn more on the band's fan site.
In case you missed Vicci Martinez CD release show last Friday at Jazzbones, PLU students Bryanna Plog and Kelsey Lid shot some cool video. Check it out.
