Fly fishing
About Jon: Ever since I caught my first 6-inch pogy on a spincast outfit, I’ve been hooked on fishing. During my freshman year of college, I picked up a book, a cheap fly outfit and a really crummy fly tying kit and proceeded to convince bluegill that my flies were better than the real thing. Practically 10 years later, my old Eagle Claw Featherlight has been replaced by a quiver of rods covering everything from small stream trout to big salmon and the bluegill have taken a backseat to sea-run cutthroat, resident silvers, fat desert trout and everything in between. If it swims, I’m in.

If you don't already know, resident coho fishing is in full swing.

Puget Sound Fly Co. will be offering one more beach class before the Narrows shuts down for SALMON until March. Class will be divided into two parts--one classroom session on Friday, January 23rd starting at 6PM and the other on the beach the following morning, January 24th.

If you have haven't been to the beach yet, want to learn more or have questions about saltwater fishing in general, this is your chance to get all three out of the way while participating in this year's exceptional resident coho fishing.

We'll cover the basics of beach angling, from equipment to techniques to flies during the classroom portion and put everything to practice the next day.

Space is limited to 6 anglers. Call Puget Sound Fly Co. at 253-839-4119 to sign up.

Will you be covering cigar selection as well as fly selection? It's my understanding that maduros are best smoked on an outgoing tide. Is that true?
