This week: Nationwide Tour's Children's Hospital Invitational, Ohio State University's Scarlet Golf Course, Columbus, Ohio.

Fourth-round score: 1-under-par 70.

Position: Putnam (2-under 282) finished tied for sixth, three strokes behind winner Bill Lunde (279).

Recap: The Tacoma native saved the fireworks for the final round (six birdies, five bogeys). He was 1-over on his round, but finished with a bang – back-to-back birdies on the final two holes to move up nine spots on the leaderboard. His six birdies doubled his output for the first three rounds, and he notched his best finish of the season – and second top-10 in 2008.

Quotable: "For a month, I've been hitting the ball pretty well, and things are starting to come around. Like I said, this week was a little bittersweet – I feel like I should have won by five shots the way I was hitting it. It is a ball-strikers golf course. I dominated the course, tee to green."

"Top 10s go a long way, but I need to get a win. I'm on the Nationwide Tour for a reason, and that's to win."

Next: Cox Classic starting Thursday at Champions Run in Omaha, Neb.
