This week: Nationwide Tour's Utah Classic, Thursday through Sunday, Willow Creek Country Club, Sandy, Utah.
Third-round score: 2-under-par 69.
Position: Putnam (10-under 203) is tied for 15th, and trails leader Brendon Todd (195) by eight strokes.
Recap: The Tacoma native never really had anything going all day, but put a jolt in his round late by making back-to-back birdies on Nos. 16 and 17 to still stay in position for his best finish of the season. He is only three strokes out of fourth place.
Tee time Sunday: 12:17 p.m. PDT with Mark Brooks.
