Paige Mackenzie knows the LPGA Tour has been away from the greater Seattle area for a decade. And the Yakima native, and ex-Washington Huskies standout also is aware how healthy the climate of the sport is in the area.
So, she's bringing the LPGA Tour experience back – for one day.
Mackenzie is hosting "The Paige Mackenzie Charity Shootout" on Saturday at Meridian Valley Country Club in Kent, which is free to the public.
Scheduled to be part of Mackenzie's star-studded field are 11 female professional golfers, most of them current members of the LPGA.
The field includes Northwest natives Wendy Ward, Allison Hanna-Williams and Jimin Kang, as well as Erica Blasberg, Irene Cho, Julieta Granada, Hannah Jun, Kellie Kuehne, Taylor Leon and Becky Lucidi.
