This week: PGA Tour's Frys.com Open, Thursday through Sunday, Grayhawk Golf Club, Scottsdale, Ariz.
World ranking: 116th.
2008 earnings: $1,214,900 (81st on the PGA Tour).
Last tournament: A tied-for-24th finish at last week's Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open was bittersweet. He's making swift progress after his extended layoff and newly-found commitment to conditioning by shooting rounds in the 60s in five of the past six rounds. But Moore dropped almost 20 spots after he made a quintruple bogey-9 on the 72nd hole Sunday.
Tee time Thursday: 6:45 a.m. PDT off the 10th tee with Rocco Mediate and Vaughn Taylor.
This week: Nationwide Tour's Miccosukee Championship, Thursday through Sunday, Miccosukee G&CC, Miami.
World ranking: 571st.
2008 earnings: $127,506 (46th on the Nationwide Tour).
Last tournament: The Tacoma native is in the middle of a season-best streak of six made cuts in a row, including a tied-for-23rd at last week's Chattanooga Classic in Tennessee. But for the second consecutive week, Putnam has been in the top 10 at the halfway point, only to falter on the weekend. In fact, he hasn't shot an under-par score on a Saturday or Sunday since his closing 1-under 70 at the Boise Open in mid-September. Still, he's sixth in all-around ranking (254 points) on the tour.
Tee time Thursday: 4:50 a.m. PDT off the first tee with Tyler Aldridge and Jarrod Lyle.

Last year: Canadian Mike Weir won his first tour title since February 2004, beating Australia’s Mark Hensby by a stroke. Weir has eight career victories.
Last week: Marc Turnesa won the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open for his first PGA Tour title, shooting 62-64-69-68 for a tournament-record 25-under 263 total. He led wire-to-wire. Matt Kuchar finished second, a stroke back.
Notes: The tournament is the fifth of seven Fall Series events. Puyallup's Ryan Moore is in this week's field. … The tour will be in Florida the next two weeks for the Ginn Sur Mer Classic in Palm Coast and the Children’s Miracle Network Classic in Lake Buena Vista.
