This week: Nationwide Tour's Miccosukee Championship, Thursday through Sunday, Miccosukee G&CC, Miami.
First-round score: 2-over-par 73.
Position: Putnam is tied for 59th, six strokes behind co-leaders Chris Nallen and Fran Quinn (67).
Recap: A double bogey to start off, and two more bogeys had the Tacoma product 4-over after four holes. He did respond with four birdies, including back-to-back ones on Nos. 12-13, to rally. Three of his bogeys came on par-3 holes. He hit only six of 14 fairways in his round.
Tee time Friday: 9:30 a.m. PDT off the 10th tee.
