This week: Nationwide Tour's Miccosukee Championship, Thursday through Sunday, Miccosukee G&CC, Miami.

Second-round score: 1-over-par 72.

Position: Putnam (3-over 145) missed the cut by one stroke, and tied for 67th. Ricky Barnes and Marc Leishman are co-leaders (136).

Recap: Two double bogeys in his first 10 holes Friday doomed the Tacoma native, and he missed the cut for the first time since the Wichita Open in August. In fact, he made a double bogey-6 on the par-4 first hole in back-to-back rounds. Putnam rallied with two birdies over his final five holes, but fell short.

Next: Nationwide Tour Championship starting Nov. 6 at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas. Putnam needs to win or finish second there to earn his PGA Tour card in 2009.
