This week: PGA Tour's Puerto Rico Open, Thursday through Sunday, Trump International Golf Club, Rio Grande.
Second-round score: 1-under-par 71.
Position: Moore (141) is tied for 65th, nine strokes behind co-leaders Jason Day and Matt Jones (132).
Recap: The Cascade Christian graduate made the cut by one stroke – and will cash his third paycheck in seven PGA Tour starts. Moore had it to 2-under at one point on the back nine Friday, but stumbled with a bogey on the par-4 14th. Again, he hit 14 of 18 greens in regulation, but couldn't get anything going on the green (30 putts).
Tee time Saturday: 4:31 a.m. PDT with Carlos Franco.
This week: Nationwide Tour's Michael Hill New Zealand Open, Thursday through Sunday, The Hills Golf Club, Queenstown, N.Z.
Second-round score: 6-under-par 66.
Position: Putnam (7-under 137) is tied for seventh, three strokes behind Seattle's Jeff Gove, a co-leader with Jason Norris (10-under 134).
Recap: The Northwest brigade certainly fared well with Gove, Spokane and University of Washington product Alex Prugh (8-under 136) and Putnam all in the top 10. This was easily the Tacoma golfer's best round of the season (seven birdies, one bogey) as he hit 15 of 18 greens in regulation. He's only made a pair of bogeys in two rounds.
Tee time Saturday: 1 p.m. local time with Drew Laning.
