This week: Nationwide Tour's Chitimacha Louisiana Open, Thursday through Sunday, Le Triomphe Country Club, Broussard, La.

World ranking: 681st.

2009 earnings: $6,679 (63rd on the Nationwide Tour).

Last tournament: The Tacoma golfer capped the tour's brutal four-tournament, two-country swing through Australia and New Zealand with a tied-for-39th finish at the Michael Hill New Zealand Open on March 15 – a tournament in which he was in the top 10 until a final-round 74 (won by Spokane's Alex Prugh). After a week off, the circuit makes its continental debut on one of the tightest and hardest courses the golfers will see. Putnam finished in a group at 50th in last year's tournament.

Tee time Thursday: 11:30 a.m. PDT off the 10th tee with Trevor Dodds and Casey Wittenberg.
