This week: PGA Tour's Arnold Palmer Invitational, Thursday through Sunday, Bay Hill Club and Lodge, Orlando, Fla.

Second-round score: 7-over-par 77.

Position: Stanley (9-over 149) missed the cut. Sean O'Hair leads at 8-under 132.

Recap: One hole really doomed the Gig Harbor product. On the dogleg left par-5 sixth, Stanley failed to carry the pond twice with his tee shots. In fact, he spent 15 minutes on the tee, until he landed in the fairway with his fifth shot, and went on to make a quadruple bogey. The Clemson junior did manage three back-nine birdies, including a final one on the difficult par-4 finishing hole, making a 33-foot putt. Stanley has now missed the cut in three PGA Tour appearances.

Next: Stanley and his Clemson squad will play in this week's The Hootie college tournament in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. The NCAA championships are May 25-30 in Toledo, Ohio.
