This week: Nationwide Tour's Athens Regional Foundation Classic, Thursday through Sunday, Jennings Mill Country Club, Athens, Ga.

World ranking: 693rd.

2009 earnings: $10,326 (81st on the Nationwide Tour).

Last tournament: The Tacoma golfer made his third cut in a row on April 5 at the Stonebrae Classic (4-over 288, tied for 57th) in California, but has yet to record a top-25 finish. His scoring average (71.95 strokes) ranks 98th on tour, and is more than a stroke higher than his career average on the development circuit. Jennings Mill CC is another one of the shorter courses (7,004 yards, par 72), built in a links-style layout where ball control is a must. Putnam has had two top-20 outings in this tournament, including a tied-for-seventh in 2008.

Tee time Thursday: 6:10 a.m. PDT off the 10th tee with Tee McCabe and Chris Riley.
