This week: PGA Tour's Quail Hollow Championship, Thursday through Sunday, Quail Hollow Club, Charlotte, N.C.

Second-round score: Even-par 72.

Position: Moore (1-over 145) finished tied for 75th, and missed the cut by one stroke. South Africa's Retief Goosen and American Bubba Watson lead at 136.

Recap: It was a mad, mad, made ride for the Puyallup golfer all day. He was 2-under on his round after making an 11-foot birdie on the par-4 eighth putt to cap back-to-back birdies. But Moore barely got his second shot out of a fairway bunker on the long par-4 ninth, and ended up with a double bogey. A final bogey on the par-3 17th sealed his fate, ending a string of four made cuts in a row.

Next: The Players Championship starting Thursday at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
