This week: Nationwide Tour's BMW Charity Pro-Am, Thursday through Sunday, Thornblade Club, The Carolina CC and Bright's Creek GC, North and South Carolina.

Third-round score: 2-under-par 70 at Carolina CC.

Position: Putnam (6-under 209) finished tied for 70th, and one cut from making the cut. Michael Sim leads at 195.

Recap: The Tacoma golfer must be kicking himself. Needing to make up two strokes over the final two holes, he went flag-hunting on the par-4 17th, and landed in the rough leading to a bogey. On the par-5 18th, he came back to make an eagle-3.

Next: The Rex Hospital Open starting May 28 at TPC Wakefield Plantation in North Carolina.
