This week: Nationwide Tour's Rex Hospital Open, Thursday through Sunday, TPC Wakefield Plantation, Raleigh, N.C.
First-round score: 1-over-par 72.
Position: Putnam is in a group at 110th, eight strokes behind co-leaders Josh Broadway, Jeff Gallagher and Bradley Iles (64).
Recap: The Tacoma golfer was one of 68 to shoot over-par rounds Thursday. And for a guy known to make lots of birdies, Putnam converted one – on the par-3 14th – on the day.
Tee time Friday: 9:05 a.m. PDT off the 10th tee.
