Two 68s vaults Olson into Sahalee Players lead: Eddie Olson is an All-American from UNLV, so he knows a thing or two about heat.

But this kind of pressure-cooker might be a little different heading into today's final round of the 16th Sahalee Players Championship in Sammamish.

Olson shot matching 3-under-par 68s on Thursday in the second and third rounds of the championship, and sits at 9-under 207, good enough for a one-stroke advantage.

But the biggest threats behind him are way more accomplished players.

[More:]

Even though they have never won this event, Australians have always played well at Sahalee Country Club. And lurking one stroke behind is Daniel Nisbet (208), an up-and-coming 18-year-old Australian who won four consecutive high-profile amateur tournament in his home country in May.

Nisbet led much of the afternoon action before Olson birdied the finishing two holes – the par-3 17th and the par-5 18th to wrestle the lead away.

And trailing by two shots is University of Washington standout Nick Taylor (209), the No. 1 ranked amateur in the world. Taylor is very shot back-to-back 70s Thursday.

Olson, of Aptos, Calif., played in the Sahalee tournament, finishing tied for 11th last year. And he went out on the front nine in 3-under 33 both times Thursday. He and Taylor are the only two in the field who have fired under-par scores in all three rounds.

Two UNLV golfers have won this tournament – Brien Davis in 2003 and Ryan Moore's record-setting performance a year later.

Lacey's Cameron Peck (225) is tied for 30th, and University Place's Andrew Putnam (231) shares 51st.
