Didn't this guy lose to a couple of TNT reporters in a putting contest? He's clearly come along way.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Now that he finally got his first tour win out of the way, I really expect to see him flourish.

Congratulations, Ryan.

In response to: Michael Putnam at Knoxville Open, 1st Rd.

Michael Putnam should make a confirmed effort to making cuts on the Nation Wide Circuit or go back to mowing greens at Fircrest golf course. Practice, practice, practice!

I am what I am.
In response to: Not 16? Feutz isn't, and can't play in Tacoma City Am

The PNGA has no problem using only a handicap requirement so as long as the Tacoma City Amateur excludes all amateurs the tournament should be renamed.

In response to: Not 16? Feutz isn't, and can't play in Tacoma City Am

Rules are rules and there is a Tacoma City JUNIOR championship for those under 16. Using a handicap index is a joke, people can post as many low scores as they want to get into a tournament. Leave it at 16, it will give him something to look forward to next year, unless he has turned pro by then, oh wait you have to be 18 to play on the PGA tour!

Any chance you could cover Alex Prugh and Jeff Gove in this tour as well. They are local golfers doing very well and may get their PGA tour cards for next year!

In response to: Ryan Moore at The Players Championship, 4th Rd.

Todd,

You know Ryan Right? Is he making some changes in his approach to prepare for these tournaments? I just don't understand how a guy can have such a stellar amature career and then become an even bigger mental midget in the pros. Quads and doubles are the result of a total lack of concentration. His mental preparation needs to change.

In response to: Greatness. Has it become Moore's foe or friend?

Moore is very talented. To the extent that he could and should have the best golf minds in his corner. Coach, Caddie and Sport Psychologist are all very important. His choices to keep family close are admirable but if he wants to win, maybe those aren't his best choices.

In response to: This week's tournaments

Verizon Heritage has actually become a fun tournament over the years. It's always such a let down after The Masters, but the course is unique and some great finishes have made it worthwhile. It's interesting to me as well, that certain players dominate here, for years at a time. Davis Love III, and now Boo has the last two. I'll probably catch a bit of it this weekend.
In response to: It's classic, it's outrageous. It's Moore-wear!!

Winning will make Moore look like a genius. Right now he looks like like he plays. Messy. Ian Poulter is a guy who is better known for his attire than his golf game. One guy I was golfing with described Poulter as "that foriegn guy that looks like "Ross" threw up on him". Overall these guys are drawing attention to themselves and to the game of golf and that's a good thing.
