In response to: NGO a go-go

Great topic. I was just getting ready to begin finding some tools to do the very same tasks.

The hard part after collecting the data is deciding what's actionable and how.The advice given in your blog is fantastic and very complimentary to my site, check it out http://netstaff.org

In response to: A young woman`s quest for a more peaceful world

Hi Joanne!

It was a pleasure to share this moment with you.
I discovered this article only yesterday when my boyfriend arrived smiling at home and gave me the pages of my first "interview"! My only hope is that it will be read and understood.

I need to give you some precisions about my quest. I am not looking for peace, I am looking for justice. As it is written in our desk in Bethlehem in big letters, "No peace without justice". Or it is the peace of oppression and despair, an appearance of peace which hides on long-term destruction and hatred. I believe that justice brings peace. I am not one of these pacifists which would do anything to reach peace and I totally agree with Gandhi when he said: if there would be choice only between war and submission to injustice, I prefer war.
One precision: I am translator and editor for Palestine News Network.
Hoping to get news from you soon, I send you and your students my best regards and I am convinced our roads will meet again, probably in the United States.
In peace

Joanne:

So glad you all are doing the UN blog. It's a great way to keep the campus community up on what you're doing, and and asset to the TNT as a bit of community news we might not otherwise get.

Thanks for blogging.
In response to: The UN becomes our classroom... One agency at a time.

Came across this on-line journal about my daughter Liz & her classmate's Geneva trip by accident. I enjoy your writing and it's nice to read another person's perspective about what Liz is doing in Geneva. The high heel stuck in the grate story was cute - but if I hadn't read the whole entry I would've sworn it was Liz's shoe that was stuck!
DR Lisosky you have some way cool glasses there, too.
Keep up the entries, I really enjoy reading them.

In response to: The World is Watching Geneva

Wow! What a terrific learning opportunity for students. As they're chasing down stories, they're also, no doubt, creating their own stories they'll have to tell for the rest of their lives.

Great blog Joanne! Summer looks like a much more hospitable time in Geneva than January. And everyone looks like they are getting published.
