A look inside the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, B.C.

The U.S. Ski Team just sent out a ton of quotes from its athletes about the recently concluded summer games in Beijing. It seems all the action inspired them to be ready for 2010:

Here's what they are saying:

Scott Macartney, 2002 and 2006 Olympian, U.S. Alpine Ski Team, Crystal Mountain, WA
My Olympic experience has been watching clips of Spanish language coverage on mute with them skipping around to any Chilean that did decently while cutting away from events mid-shot, mid-dive, mid-routine ... and still riveted to the screen. I enjoyed the track events, watching (Usain) Bolt crush in the 100 and 200 and watching the pole vault. Especially the women's pole vault, they have to have the best bodies of any sport, as a group, by far.

Scotty Bahrke, 2007 World Cup Rookie of the Year, U.S. Freestyle Aerials Team, Tahoe City, CA
My favorite moment was watching Shawn Johnson on the balance beam when it was her last chance to win a gold medal. I thought that was pretty cool watching all her training come together at the very last possible chance to win the gold.

Emily Cook, 2006 Olympian, U.S. Freestyle Aerials Team, Belmont, MA
Watching Bella Karolyi watch Nastia Liukin's floor routine in the all around [was a highlight]. As an athlete it's so much fun to see how our performances make a difference for other people. Watching one of Nastia's supporters watching her was just amazing for me knowing that people will be watching me and doing the same thing in 2010.

Stacey Cook, 2006 Olympian, U.S. Alpine Ski Team, Mammoth, CA
We were watching the Olympics down in New Zealand, and they choose to show some unusal sports. We did get to see Micheal Phelps' amazing performances. My favorite highlight might have been the German weightlifter, he had me crying along side him! On the American side, I think what Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson did was amazing. They showed so much focus and love for their sport, and any athlete can appreciate that.

Bill Demong, 1998, 2002, 2006 Olympian, U.S. Nordic Combined Team, Vermontville, NY

Watching Michael Phelps go through that whole ordeal and keep it together. It's amazing, even for someone who is physically capable, to be able to stay in the moment and keep his head in it for 10 days. To not be in the past or look to the future, but just stay in each race. It was really impressive.

Michelle Gorgone, 2006 Olympian, U.S. Snowboarding alpine racer, Boston, MA

Michael Phelps' last relay where he won his eighth gold. He seemed really excited and his mom was crying - that was cute.

Steven Nyman, 2006 Olympian, U.S. Alpine Ski Team, Provo, UT
I liked watching the Redeem Team dominate in basketball. I like how they all came together as a team and are working together towards their goal.

Shaun Palmer, Snowboarding legend, U.S. Snowboarding SBX athlete, South Lake Tahoe, CA
Phelps' relay race was probably the most exciting because Jason Lezak came back to help Phelps win the gold from behind. I'm not a swimmer but it was pretty exciting.

Kaylin Richardson, 2006 Olympian, U.S. Alpine Ski Team, Edina, MN

My personal highlight was the US women's soccer team winning the gold over Brazil. They played as a team and won as a team. A month or so before the Games they lost their standout goal scorer, Abby Wambach and still managed to go all the way. I used to play soccer and I loved the camaraderie of the team sport. It was fun to live vicariously through their hard work and success. Not to mention the final game was won in an extremely exciting, nail- biting overtime.

The highlight of the Olympics for me was, and always is, seeing the looks on the faces of all the winners the split second after they realized that they had won their respective events. That is a priceless moment! Also, the montage during the end credits of the closing ceremony was amazing. Got me all fired up for Vancouver!

Graham Watanabe, 2006 Olympian, U.S. Snowboarding SBX athlete, Sun Valley, ID
It's either the men's 4x100 relay because of the crazy comeback, or it was Shawn Johnson getting gold on the beam. I felt like she got robbed in some of the individual events for her scores. She got all these silvers, but then she finally got gold and she has such a rad personality that she really deserved it.
