We editorialized a couple of weeks ago about the state Supreme Court decision that handed government agencies broad powers to keep documents secret and to fend off requests for public records. This week, former state lawmaker Toby Nixon, who now heads the Washington Coalition for Open Government, and Jonathan Bechtle, director of the Evergreen Freedom Foundation's Citizenship and Governance Center, called on the Legislature to sew up the ever-widening attorney-client privilege loophole. This is something that we'll be watching closely this session.
