Pierce County executive candidate Shawn Bunney has been running an ad on cable channels like ESPN, CNN and Fox News. It’s the first TV ad in the executive’s race that I’m aware of (though someone correct me if I’m wrong).

The spot features an endorsement from Tacoma City Councilman (and county employee) Rick Talbert. You can watch it at Bunney’s web site.

Great ad Shawn! We definitely need to clean up our transportation mess in Pierce County and Shawn is the man to do it. I remember reading about your letter to Christine Gregoire, officially putting her on notice that Pierce County needs to be number one for transportation dollars. keep up the great work and I'm excited to see you win!

That is the smallest little "R" I have seen in some time.

Well you know it is getting close to election time when the political commercials start running on TV that are more fiction than fact. The commercial now playing for Shawn Bunney lays out quite a case for the need for new leadership as it relates to transportation issues in Pierce County.
The announcer (Rick Talbert a County employee who works directly under Bunney on his Budget Committee), states: "transportation projects are stalled in Pierce County because of a lack of leadership." I completely agree with Talbert. The irony is that for the past three years, Shawn Bunney has been the elected chair of the three county Regional Transportation Investment District (RTID). This is the organization charged by state law for planning, funding, and overseeing the construction/improvements of all major highways in King, Snohomish, and Pierce County. So isn't the announcer in the Shawn Bunney commercial, referring to Shawn Bunney's lack of leadership?
Bunney has had his three years to make things better, and things have only gotten worse under his leadership. It is time for change, real change.

Sad to see that Ladenburgs commercial uses the same woman actress seen in Shawn Bunneys...doesn't help dispel the rumor that Mr. Bunney is under Ladenburgs wing... Bad choice Shawn!
