The halfway point of the season is behind us.
We enter Week 6 with a handful of games that has distinct playoff implications:
-- Puyallup visits Curtis in a SPSL South showdown. A loss for either team will essentially knock them out of the league title race.
-- Fifth-ranked and undefeated Steilacoom hosts North Mason tonight. The Bulldogs' only loss was to Eastside Catholic, ranked No. 7 in 3A.
-- Bonney Lake and Peninsula are playing for second place in the SPSL 3A. Both teams have one league loss -- No. 3 Lakes beat them both.
-- In the Narrows League, Foss (4-1, 4-1) hosts Gig Harbor (3-1, 4-1) at Mount Tahoma Stadium. The Falcons' offense hasn't had much difficulty scoring, but neither has the Tides. A Foss win would be monumental for the Falcons' postseason hopes.
Now, let's get to the picks.
This week we welcome Tacoma golfing legend Ken Still. Ken played on the PGA Tour and Senior PGA Tour. He won three Tour events and played on America's Ryder Cup team in 1969.
For my sake, I hope Ken has spent his fall on the golf course and not reading up on prep football. I've got plenty of games to make up in the standings.
