The Prep Blog
The preps blog is designed to fill in the gaps of our high school sports coverage, providing insight into some of the stories and projects we are pursuing, and to serve as a forum to talk about some of the significant high school sports stories happening in our community.

Doug Pacey joined The News Tribune in 2007 after covering prep sports at The Bellingham Herald for five years. He graduated from Issaquah High School in 1998 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Kansas in 2002. E-mail Doug.

Abdul Gaddy told The Los Angeles Times that he is considering UCLA and the University of Washington.

"As of right now I don't know what I'm doing yet," Gaddy said. "My top places would probably be UCLA or Washington right now, but I've got to sit down and talk to my parents and my coaches."

The Bellarmine Prep standout had given a verbal commitment to the University or Arizona, but is rethinking that decision after long-time coach Lute Olson announced his retirement earlier this week.

Gaddy, rated as the No. 2 point guard in the nation by Scout.com, said he might take an official visit to Washington. He visited UCLA and Arizona in September. He said there is no timetable for making a decision.
