Thoughts on the Week 9 rankings:
-- If there were ties in these rankings, Olympia and Auburn would be tied at No. 2 in Class 4A. Both these teams are good. They have stout defenses, extremely efficient offenses and great coaching staffs.
-- Ferris falls to No. 6 after losing to reiging 4A champion Lewis and Clark.
-- I will not be surprised to see any of the Nos. 7-10 teams in our 4A rankings to reach the state semifinals. There are that many capable teams in 4A this year, and that will make for some interesting and exciting first-round and quarterfinal matchups.
-- Peninsula reappears in the 3A rankings. It's tough to win at Pete's Pool in Enumclaw, but the Seahawks did just that, getting timely special teams boosts from Darrian Creamer.
-- No. 3 Orting visits No. 5 Cascade Christian this week.
