The Prep Blog
The preps blog is designed to fill in the gaps of our high school sports coverage, providing insight into some of the stories and projects we are pursuing, and to serve as a forum to talk about some of the significant high school sports stories happening in our community.

Doug Pacey joined The News Tribune in 2007 after covering prep sports at The Bellingham Herald for five years. He graduated from Issaquah High School in 1998 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Kansas in 2002. E-mail Doug.

The 62nd playing of the "Civil War" ended in a double-forfeit for Mark Morris and R.A. Long. A day after the Monarchs seemingly won, 53-20, on the field, it was learned that both schools used ineligible players.

So, now the crossover playoff matchups for the Greater St. Helens League 2A and the Evergreen Conference are set. Here they are:

EvCo No. 4 Black Hills at GSHL No. 1 Hockinson
EvCo No. 3 W.F. West at
GSHL No. 3 at EvCo No. 2 Tumwater
GSHL No. 4 at EvCo No. 1 Centralia

The games will be played on either Friday or Saturday.
