The preps blog is designed to fill in the gaps of our high school sports coverage, providing insight into some of the stories and projects we are pursuing, and to serve as a forum to talk about some of the significant high school sports stories happening in our community.

Mike Sellers, a North Thurston High school graduate and fullback for the Washington Redskins, will have his No. 44 jersey retired at halftime of the Rams game against Foster on Thursday at South Sound Stadium.
Sellers was a fullback and linebacker for North Thurston in the early-1990s when he earned all-state honors on offense and defense. He is scheduled to arrive before the game for an autograph session.
Also, players from the Rams' 1992 Narrows League championship team are urged to contact North Thurston coach Rocky Patchin to be part of the celebration Thursday night. Patchin, who coached that team, can be contacted at the high school at 360-412-4800.
