Abdul Gaddy today signed his letter of intent to attend the University of Washington. Thus ends his long, obstacle-filled recruitment.
When asked how he can help Washington, Gaddy said this:
"I'm going to play how I've always played; bring an attitude, a swagger. I'm a winner. I'm coming to UW to try to win, go to the tournament, try to win national championships."
The TNT's UW beat writer, Don Ruiz, will have a story in Saturday's paper and something on the UW blog about the Huskies' recruiting class. Coach Lorenzo Romar had a press conference at 3:15 p.m. today.
With this year's senior class signed, sealed and delivered, the recruiting attention in Washington will now focus more heavily on Garfield's Tony Wroten and Kentwood's Josh Smith.
Speaking of Wroten, Bellarmine Prep will play Garfield in a jamboree on Nov. 29. Gaddy vs. Wroten, anyone?
Cascade Christian and Annie Wright won first-round matches today at the Class 1A volleyball state tournament at the Yakima SunDome.
The third-ranked Cougars beat Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls) 3-1 (25-22, 16-25, 25-18, 25-12). Cascade Christian will meet Castle Rock in the quarterfinals at 3:30 p.m.
Annie Wright dispatched River View 3-0 (25-20, 25-23, 25-14) and will play top-ranked King's at 3:30 p.m.
