Our All-Area teams for girls soccer, volleyball and football will be released soon. In fact, the All-Area girls' soccer team and Player of the Year will be featured in Wednesday's newspaper.
So, check out tomorrow's newspaper or the Web site to see who's on the team.
I wrote a couple days ago that the Bellarmine Prep and Garfield boys basketball teams will play each other in a jamboree on Saturday, Nov. 29. For those wanting to see two of the county's best high school basketball players -- Abdul Gaddy and Tony Wroten -- go head-to-head, the 10-minute game is scheduled to start at 8 p.m.
The admission cost is $5 for adults, $3 for students and seniors (62 or older) will be admitted free of charge.
The girls will play from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with Lakes playing Holy Names at noon and Mount Rainier at 12:30 p.m.
The boys begin at 3 p.m. with West Seattle, Jefferson and Evergreen playing each other. Then Renton, Cleveland and Foss play a round-robin format at 4:30. A 3-point contest will start at 6 p.m. and a dunk contest will go off at 6:30 p.m.
Here's the main event:
7:00: GARFIELD vs. MT. RAINIER
7:30: MT. RAINIER vs. BELLERMINE PREP
8:00: GARFIELD vs. BELLERMINE PREP
