The preps blog is designed to fill in the gaps of our high school sports coverage, providing insight into some of the stories and projects we are pursuing, and to serve as a forum to talk about some of the significant high school sports stories happening in our community.

Whittling down the thousands of high school football players in the South Sound to a elite team of 29 is a difficult process. But through information from coaches, talking to coaches and players, reviewing stat sheets and all-league teams, and our own observations, we've come up with our annual All-Area Football Team.
Rogers quarterback Tyler VanSligtenhorst is our All-Area Player of the Year. You can read here why he was chosen.
