The preps blog is designed to fill in the gaps of our high school sports coverage, providing insight into some of the stories and projects we are pursuing, and to serve as a forum to talk about some of the significant high school sports stories happening in our community.

Here's a clip from the Rock Island Tournament at Vashon High School. It's Orting's Garrett Mann (in white and red singlet) and Lakeside's Josh Lauderdale in the 130-pound weight class.
Going into the match, Mann and Lauderdale were ranked Nos. 1 and 2 in Class 1A in the Washington Wrestling Report, and they'll likely stay that way. Mann won 7-4.
Orting completely dominated the tournament, sending nine wrestlers to the finals and six won titles.
After taking second place at state the last three seasons, it looks like this could be the year the Cardinals finally win the championship.
