Just heard that Graham-Kapowsin has hired Frank Parker as its boys basketball coach, according to athletic director Bryan Streleski.

"He's got good basketball knowledge and experience," Streleski said. "He's a strong leader and focuses on academics."

Parker was previously an assistant coach for the Auburn Riverside girls program.

The Stadium-Shelton Narrows League baseball playoff game was rained out on Thursday. The loser-out contest will be made up today when the Tigers visit the Highclimbers at 4 p.m.

At Heidelberg

Game 3: Shelton vs. Central Kitsap, noon
Game 4: Bellarmine Prep vs. Gig Harbor, 3 p.m.
Game 7: Title Game -- South Kitsap vs. Olympia, 6 p.m. (winner No. 1, loser No. 2 to WCD)

Monday
At Heidelberg

Game 5: G3 loser vs. G4 loser, noon (winner No. 5 to WCD, loser out)
Game 6: G3 winner s. G4 winner, 3 p.m. (winner No. 3, loser No. 4 to WCD)

What to watch today

Tied atop the SPSL North standings with identical records, Kentridge and Jefferson will square off for the league title. The Chargers and Raiders played to a 3-3 tie earlier this season. The loser of this game will likely fall to third place behind Tahoma, which faces a one-win Federal Way squad today and vault into second place with a victory.
When: 3:30 p.m.
Where: Jefferson

Thursday’s highlights

Cam Booser and Connor Courtney combined to hold Washington to three hits and lead Fife to an 8-2 victory. Booser went 3-for-4 with a double and triple.

Black Hills pitchers Jeremy Streck, Jacob Snyder and Marshall Green limited Tumwater to two hits in the Wolves’ 8-0 win. Graeme Truschel went 2-for-3 with a three-run double in the five-run second inning for Black Hills.
