Washington Premier F.C.'s boys U-16 soccer team will compete for the U.S. Soccer Development Academy national championship beginning on Saturday at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.

What to watch today
SPSL South champion Rogers carries a six-game winning streak into its match against SPSL North title-winner Jefferson for the league’s top seed to the 4A West Central District tournament.
When: 8 p.m.
Where: Federal Way High School
Just last week, Tahoma was on the verge of winning the SPSL North boys soccer title. But after a surprising loss to Federal Way, the Bears find themselves one defeat away from being eliminated from the postseason. Tahoma will play Emerald Ridge for the SPSL’s No. 7 seed to the district playoffs in a loser-out game.

Where: Sparks Stadium, Puyallup
The quest to qualify for Star Track XXVII begins today for track and field athletes in the SPSL and Narrows League. Hundreds of runners, jumpers and throwers will compete to move on the West Central District meet.
When: 3 p.m.
Where: Kent-Meridian, SPSL; South Kitsap, Narrows
The three-day Narrows League golf tournament tees off at Spanaway Lake Golf Course. By Friday, the tournament will have whittled down to 11 golfers that will advance to the state tournament.

Tuesday’s highlights
Second-ranked Timberline jumped on Highline for four first-inning runs as the Blazers clinched berth in the baseball state playoffs with a 6-3 win in the West Central-Southwest Bi-District tournament at Russell Road Fields. Taylor Hetrick threw a complete game, scattering five hits.
Columbia River clipped Enumclaw 5-4 in 10 innings, securing a spot in the 3A baseball state tournament. The Hornets will meet North Thurston in a winner-to-state, loser-out game in the bi-district tournament at 4 p.m. today at Heritage Park in Puyallup.
White River survived Hazen in a shootout, winning the 3A SPSL/Seamount sub-district playoff game 1-0. The Hornets outscored the Highlanders 4-2 in the shootout. White River goalkeeper Paul Root recorded the shutout.
