Alvin Pearman has a torn ACL and is out for the season. He will allow the swelling to subside before having surgery.

Ray Willis has a sprained knee and is out for about six weeks.

Josh Wilson has an injured ankle and is out for one or two weeks.

Mike Holmgren said they currently are looking at different options to replace Pearman. Don't know if Marquis Weeks is one of those options. Remember, a few weeks ago they brought in Wali Lundy for a tryout.

Also, it presents a problem because both Pearman and Wilson were the return men on kickoffs. Holmgren said he has not spoken with Bruce DeHaven to decide who will be the return men, though he suspects they will remain with two back there. Ben Obomanu is a likely candidate for one of the spots.

Did Babin contribute on special teams in houston? Might be a quick fix.
HawksKD @ 15:16 - Monday, October 1st, 2007 Email
Ouch.... I think the extended loss of Willis is actually our worse loss...God help us if gray doesn't hold up the entire season. He is durable enough, let's all knock on wood.

Personally i don't enjoy the thought of ashworth, or womack being our starter @ RG.

Hopefully wilson will be back soon. This will most definitely hamper his "growing experience year".

Too bad about pearman i always heard good things about him but never got to see him take some handoffs.
madpunter88 @ 15:23 - Monday, October 1st, 2007 Email
Do the Seahawks have some special fetish for former UVA running backs with Weeks, then Pearman, and maybe Wali Lundy? Why not try to bring Tiki Barber out of retirement?

I'm joking people.
demingas @ 15:24 - Monday, October 1st, 2007 Email
Does anyone have any idea about how many snaps a game Josh Wilson has been getting on defense?
Fredline @ 15:41 - Monday, October 1st, 2007 Email
Isn't this already the 2nd time Wilson's been injured this year in limited play?
I sure hope he doesn't turn out to be injury prone like poor Womack & Tubbs.
mibuttiznum @ 15:42 - Monday, October 1st, 2007 Email
Better learn how to block fast, weaver.
SupaFreak @ 15:45 - Monday, October 1st, 2007 Email
Not sure, demingas, but I noticed even very early on, it was Babs in on plays they needed another corner, rather than Wilson. I wonder when he was hurt? Anyone know?

They will be ok as far as Pearman. They have other guys who can do what he does for us. Losing Willis is a bit more risk, as we don't have as much quality depth there, and yes, I'm not that excited about seeing Ashworth or Porky boy in the game either. If Ashworth is in, they probably juggle the guys around some, and that isn't a good thing when they aren't run blocking well right now, but at least are pass blocking decently.

i think devard darling is out as a wide out to return kicks. Devard Darling went to wsu

dover5005 @ 15:55 - Monday, October 1st, 2007 Email

Surf Hawk @ 15:56 - Monday, October 1st, 2007
Thanks for the early injury updates Frank. Dang, we lose in Arizona with no injuries and win in SF and get injuries.

Good news is that PITT sounds pretty banged up too, Polamlau, Hines Ward, their Nose Tackle...
buddhabrad @ 15:58 - Monday, October 1st, 2007
Wrotto!!!
nomorereg @ 17:50 - Monday, October 1st, 2007
If memory serves, the Seahawks traded a conditional draft pick for Pearman. Does anyone know what the "conditions" were?
easley45 @ 19:34 - Monday, October 1st, 2007
Dillon would be the perfect fit

He could actually convert a 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1!!!!!!!!!!

Cinderalexander loves to pitter-patter.
hawkfaninoklahoma @ 22:04 - Monday, October 1st, 2007 Email
dillon would fit but my understanding is he wants to much money thats why he is sitting.
badcat63 @ 22:56 - Monday, October 1st, 2007 Email
What is "too much money"? What is obtaining many 3rd and 1 and 4th and 1 worth? What is third down consistency from the RB spot worth? What is Dillon worth? Look at his stats for the last 3 years. Subtract something for our o'line issues with the run and viola we have our man.

Cory Dillon, home town player, returns home, ends career with millions - 2 year contract - incentive laden with nice guarantees - Hawks get the #2/3 back they have craved for years. Heck, I would use Cory to replace SA on first down some to stimulate the healing of his (SA) hand and change his dance into a hard run not ending in a fall down. Maybe CD can teach SA how to get short-yardage first downs without falling down first!

Just hoping. Listening Tim?

GO SEAHAWKS - Great Defense - when we needed it! (What wins championships? - D.)
Drillslinger @ 04:46 - Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007 Email
Frank said, "Holmgren said the team was going to acquire a player to replace Pearman... but it was unclear if that player would be a running back or a player at another position who can fill a special teams need." Well, if they need someone on special teams (Other than a return man) I think Kaz is available ;-)

I dont know that Corey Dillon is such a good fit, maybe he is. However it doesnt matter what I think.

He doesn't strike me as having the personality type that turns on Rusky.

I want to apologize, yet again, for criticizing the play calling on 3rd and short. Crow tastes lovely, it goes well with humble pie.
easley45 @ 09:46 - Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007
Hey, Dillon wants a ring. His personality would be in check. We would be

renting the guy for one year. that's it!

We get our ring and say goodbye.

Hey BadCat, nobody can teach Alexander how to get a yard. He's a pitter-patting punk.

Next year, I bet the house we draft a running back to take this punk's place.
jammer @ 13:56 - Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007 Email
Hey Frank, I've asked about this before without reply, but with Pearman being out for the season it would be nice to actually know what the terms of his trade were and what conditions were attached to the trade. Will we still have to give up a draft pick, if so, what round?

Please report for us on this!

BTW could you also ask about when we might be seeing Babin?
