"I think with Kelly it's a matter of experience because all the other things that you like about a guy who plays corner - toughness, attitude, being able to shake off a bad play and compete again the very next play - all that, his physical skill, that's all really good. That's all really good. And now, the one thing, he's not a very big guy. That's about the only thing I can say that you might not, he's not very big. But because he has all those other things, he should just continue to get better and better and better and better. If he can stay healthy because he has what it takes to play the position. He just needs to play it. Every corner that's ever come into the league, the greatest corners of all time, I think have gone through some growing pains when they come into this league because they're facing a good guy every week."

Jennings has been doing pretty well this season. It's kind of sad that he has been beaten deep a few times because on a lot of those, it's not due to a mistake. There have been quite a few times where he is there and in a position to make the play, his arm is in there to swipe the ball....yet his hand and the ball miss by mere inches.

So he's there and working it.....but on a few of them, it's not quite working out. I have confidence in him though, those type of plays will minimize as he continues to improve and get in even better position to make a play on the ball.

My real question is our rook, Mr. Wilson. I want to see all this talked about speed and quickness put to some real use within the next season or two.

Jennings has progressed well enough. The two additions at safety have helped. It would be nice if he was a couple inches taller, but he's much better than the average sophomore in the NFL. In a couple years, when he reaches his prime, I expect him to be about as good as Trufant. By then, hopefully Wilson will be a factor too. The CB position is the least of our concerns.

As long as we do the right thing and lock up Trufant this off season we should be ok. Our top two corners are first rounders and Wilson went in the second. We all know what kind of expectations come with going in the early rounds. Hopefully Jennings puts on a little bit more size and can be a little more physical coming out of the break, but for a second year player he seems to be in position all the time and with the kind of help and confidence he and Trufant can have in our safties over the top that will allow us to be more aggressive.

What's up with holmy?

I mean come on Jenning has played pretty good. Shouldn't he be pointing out guys on the offensive line as being to slow, pathetic, or stupid as opposed to Jenning being "small".

I just don't get why he specifically points out Jennings and is not willing to say to Sims, Spencer or Gray you guys flat out suck.

That's why you're not coaching, pal.

I dont get it either, but I think Holmgren didnt mean it in the way you think: I think Holmgren was responding to repeated comments from reporters about Jennings size, and if it is hindering him, etc etc...Holmgren is probably sticking up for Jennings, but admitting that he is small and that that is the only knock on him...Jennings has done fine, he hits hard, is fast as hell, and usually covers his assignment--the only problems that have stood out are when he goes against a big guy on third and short, he gives up the slant route and near the goal line, he gives up the slant, post and fade routes because he just isnt big enough to cover anyone unless he is in perfect position...and no one is perfect all the time.
