(On the Rams last offensive play of the game)
“It’s pretty obvious; [the ball] just came out. It wasn’t a perfect exchange, it just came out. I told myself walking up there, ‘This is a big play. I have to stay with the center,’ because on powers and things like that they have to move to their left and you’re pulling out and you have to reverse out. Those are things that we always work on. I just have to stay with him. I can remember talking to myself walking up to the line. It just happened.”

[More:]

(On if he felt RB Steven Jackson was in the end zone on third and goal on the last offensive possession)
“I thought he was in on the punch. I don’t understand why they reviewed when I went for the first down on the quarterback sneak and had it by a yard, but they don’t review a play like that with Steven where his knee isn’t even down and he’s stretching the ball out. In that kind of game, those kinds of things are supposed to be reviewed, but when you’re not winning you don’t get those calls.”

(On coming into the game and being ‘thrown into the fire’)
“Well the first play was a sack-fumble. Luckily it bounces right my way. You get thrown in the fire and you have to either step up or take a back seat. Luckily I was able to regroup, come back and make some plays, move the ball a little bit. The offense was able to put seven up on the board before the half. In the second half we just have to try to move the ball somehow. They did a good job of stopping us. You have to give them a lot of credit.”

Jackson wasn't in. He didn't score, and I thought the review showed that.

jackson was down well before the reach of the ball. that was easy. if you could debate anything, it was that phantom tick tack illegal contact on grant on the last drive. stop cryin', gus, and practice your exchanges. when you're not winning, you don't get those right, either.
