(On his play and the defense)
“I’d take the win over good stats any day. It was a huge win. That was a heck of a team that we played today. Steven Jackson and the wide receivers, that is a good team. It was a big challenge for us and I am thrilled that our team was able to overcome it.”

(On the fourth-down play)
“We did a good job of raising up. The defense was able to reset the line of scrimmage for the first three plays. On fourth down we were able to anticipate and when they mis-snapped the ball. It was sign of relief and we’ll take it any way we can get it.”

(On his three sack-performance)
“I was just able to reap the benefits of the other guys around me. My defensive line mates did a great job and the defensive back have good coverage causing the quarterback have to hold the ball. I have always said that sacks are a team thing. Lately, I have been the beneficiary of it.”

Patrick has played really good football over the last few weeks. I'm glad the Seahawks paid him all that dough to come help us out.

from ESPN:

• Defense: For a second consecutive week, Seattle defensive end Patrick Kerney notched three sacks, and the nine-year veteran now has 10½ quarterback takedowns for the season, his most since 2004. Kerney didn't have to make the big play in the Seahawks' last-minute effort to keep St. Louis out of the end zone, because Rams quarterback Gus Frerotte fumbled the snap on fourth down. But the former Atlanta first-round pick made a lot of other plays.

Kerney had seven tackles, two quarterback pressures, an interception and a pass defensed in the 24-19 victory. His early hit on Marc Bulger eventually forced the St. Louis starter out of the game with a concussion. In the past two weeks, Kerney has 12 tackles, six sacks, two forced fumbles, an interception and a pass deflection.

Is that a Seahawks record? Six sacks over two games, that is. If he keeps this up, he'll set a Seahawks season sack record.

Where are the Kearney haters now?

I'm hearing nothing but crickets!

When the defense lined up for the play where Kerney got his last sack.. I had seriously started up a "Kerney Kerney Kerney Kerney" chant here at home that my wife joined in on.

It's almost as if he answered the call!

I like our defense. It's tough for a defense to be consistent. Ours has it's struggles but seems to still manage to be better than it is worse more often than not.

Kerney has 10.5 sacks. Well, 6 have come in the last two weeks against teams that suck salty balls, the Bears and the Rams.
