The Seahawks have no media availability today. They have a walk-through this morning and then -- don't know if you knew this -- a kind of big game tomorrow afternoon against Washington. In the absence of fresh material today, I will include the interview yesterday with Deion Branch, who is a game-time decision, to give you an idea of where his head is.
Branch:
"I am going to do everything I can do and then he is going to make the decision on Saturday. I felt better.
On he and Hackett: "It’s been weird, isn’t it? I told Hack he has a hex on me, man. We all know this game is a very physical game and there are going to be injuries. I would love for us to be on the field. He is playing. Now it is up to me to continue to get better in the next two days. Coach will make that decision."
On Redskins defense: "I don’t think it is anything different than what we have seen all season. You know where they are going to be. They are either going to blitz or they are going to sit back and play defense. They will not do too much disguising. They are very vanilla. When you line up, if you see eight guys, they are bringing them. It won't be eight coming and dropping three. It is either here or they will sit back and play coverage. It won't be like Pittsburgh where guys are just running all over on defense. You won't see that."
On if that makes it easier to audible: "That is Matt’s job. We all know that could happen. But we do what he needs us to do. When he checks it we have to run it."
On not having practiced all week: "My only thing is building up my endurance. But I have been doing a lot of stuff off the field. Riding the bike and all that. Running and all that stuff, I felt good. I know it is not the game. But when you are in a game, it is a different realm. Your emotions and stuff. The first thing is I don’t want to come out all hyped up. Because then I will burn myself out. But I will be OK. This is nothing new. When you think about the playoffs, you either win or go home. That is it."
