Is it "The End of the Road" for Shaun? Greetings from sunny Peoria, Arizona The Seahawks just issued a e-mail announcing press conference today with Mike Holmgren and Tim Ruskell at 12:30 p.m. The announcement didn't have any other specifics. I just got off the phone with Frank, who's actually in Tucson but doesn't have internet access, so I'd told him I'd post this. We were guessing on what this press conference is about.... the guess.... Shaun Alexander. Could it be Shaun agreed to restructure his contract? It seems unlikely, but who knows. Frank was told that neither Holmgren nor Ruskell was going to be available before the draft. And now they are having this press conference. Also it would seem logical to take care of the situation with Shaun before the draft. Or could it be Marcus Trufant signing a contract? Who knows? But I doubt the email would've been so cryptic if it was Trufant signing... Again this is only a guess at this point. Frank said he'd call me if heard anything and I'll post it for you ASAP. We're all about team here at the TNT.

Yeah, can't get KJR streaming, it's all music (although I love Steely Dan) because the radio is broadcasting another boring college basketball game. Seahawks website has nothing on it to date. If Alexander re-structured, would that warrant a press conference. A trade of one or the other perhaps??
Alexander is not going to restructure his contract. He, like most of us, is filled with pride and ego, the same pride and ego that made him demand the current contract that could be looked at as if he were the highest paid RB in football.
Personally, everything I think of it being seems like something Clayton would have broken last night. So, the one thing that seems to fit would be the end of Alexander in Seattle since that has been speculated since Jones signed. We'll see.
a 6 part announcement..
Alexander is traded to Oakland for the rights to what's his name (the corner they franchised) Trufant has been signed to an offer sheet by Dallas which we are/have declined to match Hasselbeck has been traded to Atanta for Harrington and their #1 pick Walter Jones and our original #1 has been traded Miami for Jason Taylor and their #1 pick overall. Holmgren resigned and Jim Mora is the new Head Coach.
Because Lofa is a back-up long snapper?
Think about it. Well the rumour has bullocks. Here's the post updated post at another site: "Tod Leiweke made the announcement at a "First Tee" breakfast meeting in Yakima this morning." This pertains to Lofa and 8 year contract.
ESPN.com says
Three Pro Bowls and one trip to the Super Bowl later, Tatupu has emerged as the leader of the Seahawks' defense, and that leadership was rewarded with a six-year contract extension for slightly more than $40 million. Included in the deal is more than $16 million in guarantees.
nighthawk2
Sorry you're not impressed. I have to admit when the Seahawks traded up to get this guy in the draft I'd never heard of him. At least a few of the "top rated" linebackers were still available and they drafted Lofa, who? Check out the following ESPN article between yawns and tell me this is not a big deal? http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3305560 3 Pro Bowls in his first 3 years, defensive leader, signed for less money to help sign other free agents current, Marcus Trufant, and future, Leroy Hill. This guy is a 110% on and off the field and now, in all likelyhood will be a Seahawk for life. I'm not sure what it takes to wake you up......yawn........but this works for me and is every bit worthy of a press conference! and is no doubt the leader of the Seahawk defense. The guy is too short, too slow & has averaged 112 tackles/season. He signed for less $$$ so we can
Ensuring that a core guys stays in Seattle for the rest of his career is a cool thing to me!
I might have to halt getting that Logan Payne jersey and getting Lofa insead (and donating my Branch jersey to some blind person --- no disrespect to the blind intended).
Comment by knutson_11 @ 10:03 - Friday, March 21st, 2008 Cant wait, and thanks for the update... and for all the haters, i have yet to find this on any other sight?
and you still can't. ESPN isnt saying the news came from the seahawks press conference (but i'd imagine it did). Seahawks.com doesnt have ANY info on the PC, and neither do any other site. Was the PC really about the extension signing of Lofa through 2015 for nearly 40mil and a 16mil bonus?
btw Ryan lol... bad bad bad BAD joke to make us watch boyz 2 men video end of the road lol. My ears are bleeding
I didn't say it wasn't a good thing Tatupu's contract was extended. It's about time Ruskell started learning from his mistakes. I said there was no need to call a press conference for this event instead of issuing a press release. A press conference is for some really major event. I don't consider a contract extension to be that major. And yes, I'd heard of him in college and I thought the trade up was a good idea.
