I have been going over some of the quotes from the scouting combine in recent days as I have been writing my stories to preview the upcoming draft, and I came across this quote from Billy Devaney, hired in St. Louis from Atlanta. The question was Devaney's impression of Virginia defensive end Chris Long:

"I think he's good. I don't think that's his forte. He's a tremendous run
down players. He's a tremendous run-down player. He's an effort pass rusher.
Every play, you have to block him to death and if you let up, that's where
he's going to get his sacks from.

"A lot of guys operate that way.

"We had a kid in Atlanta, Patrick Kerney who was a lot like Long,. He's a
try-hard guy, a good athlete, but he's relentless. Did Patrick lead the
league this year? Or he was number two? It was incredible. He's got the
same mentality as Chris Long. Or Chris Long is just like Patrick.

"But against the run, he'll be a force.''
