Can you talk about your thoughts on this mini-camp, particularly compared to the first one a month ago? I think it's going well. At times it is frustrating because I don't know everything as well as I'd like to know it. But that is the key, continue to learn from my mistakes and hopefully not repeat those mistakes.

How much did the hamstring injury restrict what you were able to do? It kept me out of a few things the first week but I was able to do everything the second week. I strained it working out the week before we started.

[More:]

What is some of the stuff you have been able to pick up and what are the main things you need to work on? Everything and Everything. I mean, in terms of running routes, being precise in routes, making the correct read and catching the ball first. In terms of run blocking, knowing who to block first and foremost, using the proper technique and fundamentals to make the block.

How much have you been able to pick up from the guys who were here last year? Watching them in practice, and watching them on film as well, helps me a lot. It helps me visualize the correct way of doing things.

Do you have any commitments left with Notre Dame? No, I graduated in '07. The 2008 graduation already took place anyway, but I graduated in May of 07, a year ago.

What do you do now between now and training camp? Every rookie, we all take a trip to the NFL Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. That is June 18-19. I am getting married in July. Other than that, I'll be working out and getting ready for training camp.

Where are you going on your honeymoon? My fiancee and I are going to go to the Oregon Coast.

Hopefully the weather will be better than this for you? Even if it is, it'll give us a chance to relax, allow me an opportunity to work out and then spend some time together.

Between now and training camp, have they given you any specific assignments? Well, obviously, I want to be in as good of shape as possible. I want to be as fast and strong as possible. Right now strengthening my hamstring is important because right now it's a weakness. Going over the playbook, getting to know everything as best I can.

Do you feel, maybe not pressure is the word, but any additional responsibility because you know they want you to come in and be the starter immediately as opposed to some of these other guys who get a little honeymoon period and can be groomed behind some guys? I put pressure on myself to know the offense and be the best player I can be. In terms of my role, I don't know what it will be and I don't want to worry about that. I want to compete, I want to contribute to the team in any way I can, and I'll do those things and let the chips fall where they may.

Have you, or your agent, started contract negotiations? I don't believe so.
