The Seattle Seahawks announced this morning that first round pick defensive end Lawrence Jackson signed a multi-year deal, and is on the practice field this morning. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Defensive tackle and fullback Owen Schmitt also have signed multi-year deals, giving the Seahawks six of its seven draft picks signed heading into camp.

Second round draft pick John Carlson remains unsigned. To make room for the moves, the Seahawks released defensive tackle Kevin Brown, fullback Dan Curran and safety Mike Green.

I'll post an updated roster after the first practice.

Mike Green is cut. I have never been a Mike Green fan, but many expected him to win the job from Boulware two years ago before he got hurt. I guess you could say our safety play has improved since then.

Cool, thanks for being on top if things Eric.

Now what's the hold up with Carlson? he has to know hw went higher in the draft than he was expected to, what could he be thinking?

"Defensive tackle and fullback Owen Schmitt "

Should that read "Defensive tackle RED BRYANT and..." ?

Evidently Carlson is asking for more money than a 2nd rounder in his slot should get. He knows the team wants him to be a starter so his agent is rumored to be asking late 1st rounder money.

Welcome to the Jeb Putzier starting TE era, and Carlson and his agent are blowing it. History shows that the rookie that holds out for that few extra dollars never recovers the lost time at their first training camp.

Carlson is not starting off well in my mind, he has alot to prove to get on my good side. Not good to be a guy expected to start and holding out for more cash.

Engram, I understand, he is proven, and he showed up today.

Carlson, there is no excuse. You don't get big money until you prove you are worth it.

From Mike Sando: The Seahawks' roster moves also included releasing defensive tackle Kevin Brown. Second-round tight end John Carlson remains unsigned, but the sides are apparently close to an agreement. - ESPN.com

"Carlson, there is no excuse. You don't get big money until you prove you are worth it."

Or, as your Engram example shows, you just don't get it ever.

Carlson's out to get what he can before the commish locks down the rookie salaries. I don't like it, but that's what we're looking at in these times.
