I have to get cracking on my daily stuff, but I wanted to give injury updates really quickly. Charlie Frye looked OK, he said his knee was sore, but he didn't look that bad to me. Lofa, on the other hand, left the locker room on crutches and looked very stiff. He made the comment that he was not going to be able to drive home once they landed. Both are getting MRIs tomorrow. Now I have to start writing.

Holmgren said in his postgame press conference that neither player had suffered ligament damage, and while they will have MRIs tomorrow the team doesn't expect that Frye or Tatupu have serious injuries.

Frank: I really appreciate that you gave a blog update before writing your daily stuff. Thank you.

Do we believe in miracle healing?

This defense has more talent and depth than 90% of the league. It is now gut check time for the other members of the defense. I expect they will respond accordingly.

Looks like Hathorn will make the team. My guess is a sprain, the good thing is at 80% tatupu is still better than 90% of the leagues linebackers. IMO.

for gosh sakes, let's at least wait to hear real information before we start asking Dave Wyman to come out of retirement.

So he can drive just fine drunk off his ass but can't drive with a bruised knee?

Dry humor...

preseason sucks
moo @ 21:46 - Monday, August 25th, 2008 Email
It is time to cut preseason to 2 games. And playing 2 games in 4 days in preseason is beyond ridiculous.

Against Oakland, Holmy should start only players he intends to release & let them play the entire game.
BobbyK @ 22:10 - Monday, August 25th, 2008 Email
I totally agree and it's just not because of what happened tonight.

The league should only have two exhibition (pre-season) games. That way teams can't rape the fan for having to purchase two games that are meaningless. Also, instead of charging full price for the one pre-season game, those tickets should be half-off for everyone.

To make up the lost revenue, there should be 18 weeks to the NFL season. Not 18 games, 18 weeks. There would still be 16 games but instead of one bye, each team would have two.

Just my opinion...
hawks_81 @ 22:17 - Monday, August 25th, 2008 Email
Maybe Lofa was making a joke, since he wouldn't be able to drive anyway, as he probably has a suspended license.
r3cusant @ 22:30 - Monday, August 25th, 2008 Email
Frank, great updates thanks a bunch.

Also /fail at the Tatupu drunk driving jokes.
Sac_94 @ 03:16 - Tuesday, August 26th, 2008 Email
So... the best player on the team injures his knee and we get drunk driving jokes... very sad. DUI's are not a joking matter, and neither is the health of Tatupu. That said, Holmgren seems positive and he's usually pretty straight forward... now if Belichik says a player will be fine that is a whole other story.

BobbyK - great idea. Extend the season add another bye, they could even add three byes I am sure the players would be all for it - keep the good ones healthy. As for the preseason, our very own Mike Wahle had the best idea... let the under 3-4 year guys play two preseason games then bring in the vets for the last two.

That beer or two statement was PRICELESS ... keep up the great jokes ... maybe he could use the beers to wash downs a few vikadens on the plane as well ...
QB_Sneak @ 09:59 - Tuesday, August 26th, 2008 Email
vikadens? What is that, a Norse office supply company.

Good one EPGD. You're still a tard I see.
