The Seahawks have made their roster moves, and they include sixth-round draft pick Tyler Schmitt being placed on injured reserve. So the long snapper drama continues.
The other moves:
Omare Lowe, who gave up the two-point conversion last night, was waived.
WR Joel Filani was waived.
LB Will Herring was placed on PUP. He can come back after six games and has three weeks to practice with the team to determine if he is healthy enough to go on.
OT William Robinson was placed on injured reserve.

Lofa,
Lofa,
Lofa,
Pay attention guys.....

"I have a call in to the Hawks regarding Lofa's injury, but they are currently not answering. Just to give you a heads-up, their MO this preseason has been to announce the injury the day after the MRI, so they may not be releasing anything on that today."
The team REALLY wanted Tyler Schmitt to be the long snapper. If he was at all able to come back and do his job they'd have taken him over Lindsey in a heartbeat. No reason to hide a guy on IR if you think he's going to make the team.
Now if you are thinking this was a situation where he might have been ready by, say game 5 or 6 then you might as well IR him so you don't lose him. He was wanted by several teams.
So, in Seattle's case that puts the limit on the PUP list to Herring and Branch (and theoretically Tubbs before he was cut). Every other player on the roster has been active for 1 or more of the training camp practices.
I think a long snapper gets hurt running downfield and breaking up wedges/making tackles, like everyone else who gets hurt on special teams.
I don't remember who started the year for us but we brought in Boone Stutz for a game or two (is first game he had the bad snap to Plack during the N.O. game) and then we replaced Stutz with Lindsay who finished the year with us. We let him go in April when we signed Tyler Schmitt. Thank goodess he was still available for us so we didn't have to go ask Stutz.
The LS are (mysteriously) listed as TE:
