Here is the team's release:

Seattle Seahawks Head Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Ed Khalfayan, performed successful surgery on Rob Sims today to repair a torn left pectoral muscle. Sims is expected to make a full recovery. Normal rehabilitation from this type of surgery is 4-6 months.

Khalfayan was assisted by fellow team orthopedist Dr. Mike McAdam. (Shameless MD plug, apparently.)

So he could be back for the playoffs.
BobbyK @ 13:25 - Thursday, September 11th, 2008 Email
I would be okay with Sims if we went into next season with him as the primary back-up at left and right guard. Anything else and it's probably not a good thing for our offensive line.

he is on ir i am pretty sure that means he is out for the playoff's also

i got a text from a buddie that the hawks are interested in getting Roy Williams?

anyone else hear this?
wabubba68 @ 13:33 - Thursday, September 11th, 2008 Email
I've got to think that Roy Williams is a bogus rumor...not exactly a Ruskell fit as he has a reputation for underachieving and a poor work ethic during practices. Talent-wise, I would love it though.
IDHawkman @ 14:04 - Thursday, September 11th, 2008 Email
That rumor was floated but it was generated from a report by clayton back in May. It is bogus.

Also, Sims was put on IR so he is out for season regardless of if he can play or not.

But hey, finally some positive news. I wonder if they will rest him until the regular season though like they did Spencer, Kearny, Tapp and the others that sat out most if not all of the preseason.
mocarob @ 14:17 - Thursday, September 11th, 2008 Email
Too bad they didn't rest BobbyE and BennyO during the preseason.

dt- it's always in limbo
ot - walter's replacement
formerathlete @ 14:31 - Thursday, September 11th, 2008 Email
Walter's replacement is Locklear and Locklears replacement is Willis, Willis is a stud.
BobbyK @ 14:52 - Thursday, September 11th, 2008 Email
Tackle is the LEAST of our worries going forward.
IDHawkman @ 15:59 - Thursday, September 11th, 2008 Email
depends on if Jones comes back. If he retires, then we need another OT. we can't go with just two and having Pork as another OT is almost like have none since he won't last more than two games. He is a stop gap player at best. I'm hoping we get two games out of him before the bye then two more out of him then wrotto will have to pick it up from there.
goneshootin @ 16:25 - Thursday, September 11th, 2008 Email
Good luck on the recovery, Rob. Hope you come back healthy and strong; any surgery is a serious deal.
goneshootin @ 16:27 - Thursday, September 11th, 2008 Email
formerathlete - I agree 100% percent. We just need a solid center and some decent backups on the line.
emitch423 @ 18:02 - Thursday, September 11th, 2008 Email
Don't forget QB as Hass is getting a bit long in the teeth. But c'mon, we all know they'll draft a 5'8" corner in the first round, a defensive end in the second round and a DT in the third round. It's the Seahawks Way!

BTW, has a surgeon ever come out and said, "We did surgery today and it was unsuccessful; I just couldn't fix it, better luck next time?" I don't think so!
klm008 @ 19:37 - Thursday, September 11th, 2008 Email
Is Locker gonna play his Jr & Sr years @ UW? He would be my pick for Hass's replacement.
goneshootin @ 19:53 - Thursday, September 11th, 2008 Email
klm008 - Locker? Seriously?

Michael Vick was twice the athlete as Locker, and we saw how that worked.

I'm a '93 UW grad and LOVE the dawgs... but Locker will get KILLED in the NFL... UNLESS he develops accuracy and touch. People compare him to John Elway... but Elway was FAR MORE accurate coming out of Stanford. I'm not sure if Locker will come around... he doesn't read defenses well, either. Throws in to double, somtimes triple, coverage.
kinger12 @ 10:59 - Friday, September 12th, 2008 Email
Locker is not a very accurate thrower not exactly WCO friendly.
