The Seattle Seahawks had an hour-long walk through today, and Coach Mike Holmgren talked to reporters afterwards.

Here are some tidbits.

Holmgren said Deion Branch will start on Sunday at flanker. Holmgren did not want to put a number on how many snaps Branch will see, but expect to see Branch out on the field for at least half of the snaps.

Holmgren said the same thing goes for Bobby Engram. Expect to see Engram in the slot this week, and to probably play the same amount as Branch.

Holmgren said either Billy McMullen or Keary Colbert will start at split end.

McMullen has played well so far, but Holmgren said he'd likes what Colbert brings and wants to get him on the field as well. Colbert had been playing flanker, but has had to learn both positions in a short amount of time.

Listen to part of the conversation with Holmgren here.

[More:]

Koren Robinson (sore knee) did not practice with the team, coming out midway through practice and slowly making his way around the perimeter of the fields. Maurice Morris (knee) did not get any reps during practice. Holmgren said he still has to make a decision on whether those two will be active on Sunday, but it seems unlikely that either one will play. Holmgren also said they probably will not make any roster moves in terms of releasing someone this weekend.

"The best I can read it is, in our haste to put him out there and our need to put him out there, that we really make a really minor injury a major injury, and I don't want to to that," Holmgren said about Robinson. "Our receiver situation is better. The pile is bigger. I can afford to do it this way if I don't play him, and just rest him and let him really heal up.

"It's not a really bad injury, but it's preventing him from really cutting it loose. And he has to really do that at that position."

Holmgren also said Michael Bumpus will return punts this week.

Sean Locklear
worked with the first team and will start at right tackle.

Cornerback Marcus Trufant is still limited by the cast protecting his broken left hand, but he seemed to be using his hands better today, corralling a one-handed grab for an interception during team drills. Trufant doesn't have a pick on the year, but could break out on Sunday.

Who's going to start at RG? Still 'Chop' or has Wills gotten any first-team reps?

Thanks Eric, any update on Lofa? I think this game will be won or loss in the trenches.

I believe in Holmy so I don't question his moves but dang, I really like the way McMullen plays. Also, it seems like the run game is better with Willis at RT.

Frank had previously reported that Chop would continue at RG and Willis would backup both positions. I am a Pork Chop detractor (injured getting off the bus is too much for me), but we are really in a good position at RG. Willis has played and played at a high level. If and when Chop gets hurt, we have someone who has played well this season to insert into the lineup.

I thought Holmgren getting feisty about the East Coast time zone causing us to lose was pretty amusing. It is just another psychological ploy to get the team to play better. I hope this one works, he has tried plenty of other things to change what we have done in those east coast games and none of them have worked so far.

Orogenic: Nice. Nothing like a little bling to start the weekend. Oceanic. Tompage is right. Chopp will play guard, and Willis will be the backup at guard and tackle.

Now hopefully Deion can stay healthy the entire rest of the season. I won't count on it, but my fingers are crossed.

I'm with you Seahawkbryce.
If Branch stays healthy from now until the end of the season, that would be huge.

Thanks for the Update Eric.
Now let's hope for a win.

Maybe the best way to wake up the team is to start with a heavy dose of power running. Hasselbeck can then start getting into the groove later in the 'morning'.

It's more Coach Holmgren's style to mix it up early, so that Matt can find his rhythm as soon as possible. I'd expect more of a scripted look for the first 15-20 plays with Coach saying "this is what we do well, come and get it" to the other team. The creativity and adjustments won't come until later.
