Wednesday’s Seahawks practice marked the first time wide receiver Deion Branch, defensive lineman Cory Redding and cornerback Kelly Jennings were on the practice field during offseason workouts.
All three were limited during the two-hour practice to individual drills. But Branch said he hopes he can do more in the following practices of the three-day, mandatory minicamp.
For Redding, who came to Seattle in the offseason trade with Detroit that sent linebacker Julian Peterson to the Lions, it was the first time he worked on the field in a helmet with his new teammates.
Seattle Seahawks head coach Jim Mora was asked about Michael Vick's possible return to the league this afternoon after practice, and was clear about his team's possible interest in the Atlanta Falcons quarterback.
Mora said he talked to his former quarterback before he went to prison and the he believed Vick deserved another chance to play in the league.
However, that opportunity won't take place in Seattle.
"It's a sticky situation, one I'm not comfortable talking about," Mora said. "But the fact of the matter is Michael Vick is a member of the Atlanta Falcons organization right now, and for me to speak about him would be speaking out of turn.
"I'll just say this for the record, which is we are very happy with the quarterbacks we have on our roster, and we have no intentions of adding another quarterback to our roster."
I'll have more later from today's practice.
I'm off to watch the first day of minicamp this week. This will be the last time we get a chance to see the Seahawks practice before they shut it down until the opening of training camp at the end of July.
Let me know some questions you would like answered over the next few days and I'll try to get to as many of them as I can.
And I'll have a full report after practice today.
