Hawks third string QB Charlie Frye is pulled down after a short gain on a scramble during the Seahawks loss to the Green Bay Packers at Quest Field Sunday.
Dean J. Koepfler / The News Tribune
It dawned on me on the flight to Phoenix that my interview with Greg Gadson was not governed by the NFL restrictions. So I wanted to include it on the blog. Take a listen, he's a good guy and it's a good story. The sound quality at the start is not very good but it gets better about 30 seconds in.
I thought this interview was humorous enough that I decided to post it, in part because Walter Jones is never very animated. I asked him where he and Ravens tackle Jonathan Ogden rank among left tackles of all-time. The best part is where I ask him who's the best and he says, "I was going to say me because it's me."
In a rather confusing interview after the Seahawks' 95-minute, indoor practice, Shaun Alexander said that he is changing his running style this week from hitting the hole TOO hard to reading what the linemen are doing and being more patient. Here is the audiolink of some of his comments. They are actually answers to two questions, and you can hear the second question begin to be asked before I cut it off for time purposes. (Remember, we can only play 45 seconds of audio.) Most everybody walked away from the interview thinking, "Huh?" primarily because the criticism of Alexander this year, including from Mike Holmgren, is that Alexander is dancing around too much and not hitting the hole hard enough. In any case, take a listen and make your own judgment.
An update: It looks like technical difficulties saved me from myself. I had forgotten that this year, reporters can only use 45 seconds of audio according to NFL regulations.
Sorry if I got your hopes up.
Here is the weekly pregame sitdown with Dave Boling for insights into the upcoming Seahawks-Cardinals game.
The post headline is a little misleading because there is not much of an update. Shaun spoke today and said very very little about his hand/wrist injury. In fact, it was one of the more bizarre interviews of being vague that I have been a part of -- and that includes multiple interviews with Clay Bennett, the King of Vapid -- the reason that I have included the audio of the interview with Shaun in this post. Make of it what you will. Basically, his wrist or hand hurts, he doesn't want to make a big deal of it, he is going to play, he is wearing a protective device, story over.
This is the second half of the pregame conversation between me and Boling. It picks up where the first half left off.
This is the first half of the pregame conversation I just had with Boling in the press box. It covers a litany of topics that the Seahawks face both in this final game and as the season opener approaches. I recorded it at too high a quality so I had to break it in two. I'll file the other half shortly.
This is 45 seconds of an interview I did with Derek Devine Tuesday afternoon. He should get playing time against the Raiders on Thursday and may be competing for a roster spot (long shot), may be competing for a spot on the practice squad.
The Seahawks QB was on this morning with Mitch Levy, during which he spoke about meeting President Bush.
