Eric D. Williams took over the Seahawks beat and Seahawks Insider blog in December. Williams has covered the Seahawks, Sonics and high school sports for The News Tribune since joining the paper in 2006. Eric lives in Tacoma with his wife and two children.
Tacoma News Tribune columnist Dave Boling also contributes to the Seahawks Insider blog.

I talked to ex-Seattle Seahawks fullback Leonard Weaver for the first time since he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles last week. Weaver talked about his frustrations on not getting a deal done in Seattle.
Weaver also said that he believes the team announcing the head coaching change to Jim Mora from Mike Holmgren before last season began created in the locker room.
And he also wanted one last chance to thanks Seahawks fans for supporting him during his time in Seattle.
Our old friend Jerramy Stevens spoke to the Pewter Report, a web site devoted to covering the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Right here you can read that Stevens is actually not a bad guy, as we all wrongly assumed when he was arrested 327 times in 2 months.
NFL.com's Adam Schefter is reporting that Jim Zorn is bringing in Shaun Alexander for a workout tomorrow because Ladell Betts injured his knee on Sunday. We'll see if Shaun still has what it takes to impress NFL coaches.
The Associated Press caught up with Shaun Alexander in a telephone conversation and asked him everything everybody has been wondering. All the answers to those questions are right here.
Former Seattle Seahawks fullback and Fox Sports Northwest sportscaster Mack Strong will visit the Samsung Sound Lounge at Bumbershoot to host the DJ Scratch Academy, as well as guest DJ and play his favorite songs for everyone to enjoy. Strong will be there from 5-5:45.
Anyone attending Bumbershoot will be able to participate in the DJ Scratch Academy, which allows festival goers the opportunity to learn first-hand from the experts how to scratch and mix and create their own unique music CD or video to take home with them.
The Sound Lounge will also have a digital green-screen photo area where people can take their pictures to print onsite to take with them. In addition, the festival wristband also offers free prizes – festival attendees will get a free day pack and free night glo, which can be redeemed at the Samsung Sound Lounge booth.
No, he did not get a job in the NFL, per se. Here is a press release keeping you up to date:
Former Seattle Seahawks running back Shaun Alexander is playing a new position this football season: rookie virtual host of HGTVPro.com's annual Builders Football League (BFL). The league is an online, weekly pro football pick-and-win contest for contractors, remodelers, and home improvement enthusiasts. Throughout the season, players predict the winning teams from the Sunday and Monday night pro football match-ups. Weekly winners will receive a $100 Circuit City gift card, and the player with the most points at the end of the season wins the grand prize - a Samsung 50" HDTV (approximate retail value = $1,199.99).
"I'm excited to join the home pros at HGTVPro in their popular Builders Football League," Alexander said. "This Web site is a great resource for professional and armchair builders alike, and the BFL is a fun way for both to build team spirit and heat up competitive juices."

While surfing the net the other day, I ran across this story from Tom Rock of Newsday about the Madden game turning 20 this year.
Lo and behold, our favorite ex-Seahawk had a lot to say about the game and his making the 2007 cover:
Shaun Alexander already was one of the most accomplished players in the NFL. He'd led the league in rushing and touchdowns, been named MVP, gone to three Pro Bowls and played a big part in the Seahawks' roll to Super Bowl XL. But that wasn't enough to impress some people.
Getting his picture on the cover of a 5-by-7-inch box was, though.
"My 13-year-old cousin comes up to me and says, 'Man, you must be pretty good,'" Alexander recalled while discussing his selection as the cover boy of Madden NFL 07.
Former Seahawks fullback Mack Strong came out to practice to dodge some raindrops and take a gander at his old team. I caught up with him before practice for a few minutes. Here is the audio, which includes his explanation of why he turned down Mike Holmgren for the job of running backs coach.
Former Seahawks receiver Peter Warrick, signed by the Montreal Alouettes this week, was released by the team. Here is the link.
I may have to revise my prediction about Seattle losing in Tampa next season. The Bucs have re-signed the erstwhile Seahawks tight end. Here is the Tampa Tribune story.
ESPN.com's Bill Williamson, based in Denver, reports that the Broncos have cooled on the idea of adding Shaun Alexander to their backfield.
Meanwhile, former Seahawks receiver Peter Warrick signed with the Montreal Alouettes (isn't Alouette those round things of cheese at the grocery store?)
The New Orleans Saints signed former Seahawks quarterback Travis Lulay, who was recently officially released from Seattle's roster. Here is the link.
