Seahawks head coach Jim Mora concluded the team's three-day, mandatory minicamp by ending practice about a half hour early on Friday at 11:30 a.m., to the cheers of all the players.

However, Mora probably had his own selfish motives, particularly after seeing cornerback Josh Wilson go down and need the assistance from trainers who checked out his right knee after defending a pass intended for receiver Ben Obomanu.

Wilson eventually got up and limped off, but obviously Mora had seen enough and wanted to make sure the possibility of other players getting dinged up was avoided.

The Seahawks practice for about two hours this morning, finishing off practice with a lively 11-on-11 team drill that included scripted, situational down-and-distance plays and a play clock.

Darryl Tapp and Na'Shan Goddard returned to action after sitting out Wednesday's practice.

Wide receiver Deion Branch took another step forward, working into some team drills today.

Seahawks defensive lineman Cory Redding works out on the two-man sled during individual drills.

Wednesday’s Seahawks practice marked the first time wide receiver Deion Branch, defensive lineman Cory Redding and cornerback Kelly Jennings were on the practice field during offseason workouts.

All three were limited during the two-hour practice to individual drills. But Branch said he hopes he can do more in the following practices of the three-day, mandatory minicamp.

For Redding, who came to Seattle in the offseason trade with Detroit that sent linebacker Julian Peterson to the Lions, it was the first time he worked on the field in a helmet with his new teammates.

Seattle Seahawks head coach Jim Mora was asked about Michael Vick's possible return to the league this afternoon after practice, and was clear about his team's possible interest in the Atlanta Falcons quarterback.

Mora said he talked to his former quarterback before he went to prison and the he believed Vick deserved another chance to play in the league.

However, that opportunity won't take place in Seattle.

"It's a sticky situation, one I'm not comfortable talking about," Mora said. "But the fact of the matter is Michael Vick is a member of the Atlanta Falcons organization right now, and for me to speak about him would be speaking out of turn.

"I'll just say this for the record, which is we are very happy with the quarterbacks we have on our roster, and we have no intentions of adding another quarterback to our roster."

I'll have more later from today's practice.

I apologize for the lateness of this post, but here are some notes from Thursday’s OTA.

The main news coming out of Renton on Thursday was Seattle head coach Jim Mora chose not to talk about Michael Vick’s eventual release from home confinement and whether or not he should be reinstated in the NFL.

It seemed like a perfect opportunity for Mora to address the issue and get it behind him with Vick being in the forefront of the news, but now that he has not provided a firm statement that Vick is not in Seattle’s long-term plans, the story will continue to linger until he does so.

The Seattle Seahawks finished up the team’s three-day, OTA’s this morning with a conditioning drill that included all of the coaches participating, including head coach Jim Mora and offensive coordinator Greg Knapp.

Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck said it’s good to see the coaches supporting the players during conditioning drills by running with them, but noted that some are in better condition than others. You can listen to a snippet of that conversation in the video above.

The Seattle Seahawks wrapped up the post-draft, minicamp this afternoon. Provided above is a look-in on the offensive line working on drive blocking, part of the group’s individual workouts before they get together for team drills at the beginning of practice.

With the three-day, minicamp complete, Seattle head coach Jim Mora said the Seahawks will move into Organized Team Activities (OTA’s) starting with the veterans on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Mora said afterward the veterans will get a week off. The rookies will come back on May 17th and will stick around until a couple weeks before training camp.

Rain steadily drizzled on the practice field this morning as the Seattle Seahawks trudged through the second day of practice.

The coaches seemed to crank up the intensity a notch or to and do more coaching on the run as the younger players still try to adjust to the speed of the game and the playbook they're trying to memorize.

Rookie receiver Deon Butler continues to make plays during seven-on-seven and one-on-one drills.

The Seattle Seahawks wrapped up the veteran minicamp today with a practiced that lasted nearly two hours.

Today I focused on watching the defense, including this video clip above, which shows defensive line/assistant coach Dan Quinn (on the sled) and defensive coordinator Gus Bradley (foreground) working with the defensive line on the sled. Again, nothing earth shattering here, but just a look-in to get a feel for what's going on at practice.

Day 2 of the Seattle Seahawks veterans camp was a little more tame compared to Tuesday's practice, with coaches on both sides of the ball focused more on teaching the basic schemes of the new system.

However, practice still moved at a brisk pace, including team drills at the end of practice. I posted the video above so you could get feel of how things are going out here.

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck rolls out on the team's first day of veterans camp on Tuesday (AP photo, Elaine Thompson).

After finishing the worst season of his career, both statistically and in the win-loss column, its no wonder Seattle Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck wants to put 2008 in his rear-view mirror.

The Seahawks finished with a 4-12 record, the organization’s lowest mark since the team’s 2-14 campaign in 1992.

And uneven quarterback play had a lot to do with that. Hasselbeck played in only nine games, finishing with a career-worst 57.8 passer rating with only five touchdowns, 10 interceptions and 1,216 yards thrown for a 52.2 completion percentage.
